Last summer, the Begley family travelled to the beautiful Swiss resort of Lenzerheide to experience our Alpine Summer Pop-Up. They stayed in the Priva Alpine Lodge, a unique chalet and apartment-style accommodation concept, perfect for families and groups. Here is their review of their stay and experience with Powder Byrne.
Powder Byrne went above and beyond for my family and I. Priva Alpine Lodge was perfect for us, beautifully located, spacious and comfortable it was exactly what we were looking for. We were spoilt for choice on family-friendly activities and places to dine and never found ourselves without something to do. One of our favourite activities was mountain biking, the perfect adrenalin-filled activity to get your heart pumping! The area was beautiful and the perfect way to explore the mountains. With endless kilometres of trails and tracks, we weren’t surprised to hear it was used for Red Bull’s World Cup mountain biking, it was spectacular! Our instructor Jenny made our experience. As beginners, we were nervous at first but through her kind and patient nature, she made us feel at ease, allowing us to enjoy an activity we couldn’t have imagined doing without her help!
Our children had a fantastic time and always had lots of exciting stories to tell us at the end of the day. Their favourite activity was the white water rafting, truly unforgettable! They adored their guide Ed, his knowledge of the area and friendly attitude ensured they had the best time. Our children’s excitement grew as they noticed all the various watersports available from canoeing and paddle-boarding to wake-boarding and even waterfall climbing, it was ideal for our children with boundless energy.
The two breathtaking hikes we did as a family allowed us to see the beauty and tranquillity of our surroundings in their natural setting. It was the perfect way to unwind and spend quality time together as a family. At the top, we ate at the Sharmoin which was beautiful and the perfect round off to our hike. Another highlight was the toboggan run, which is actually the longest toboggan in Switzerland! It was incredibly fun for all of us, an activity we could do together and allowed us to see the mountains from a remarkable viewpoint in one of the most exciting ways.
We indulged each evening in stunning settings and the local recommendation our Resort Manager Chris gave us prior to our visit, Heidi Stubi was fantastic. It was reassuring to know that if we wanted, all of our reservations could be made prior to arriving. We dined at the Revier Mountain Lodge twice and our kids especially loved it here, friendly and relaxing, it was the perfect spot to eat after a busy day. We will be sure to return to Lenzerheide in summer and travel with Powder Byrne, their attentive nature and “everything’s possible” attitude made this a truly memorable holiday.
