Meet the Powder Byrne travel consultants and ski specialists in our London head office. They share a passion for all things travel, whether it be adventuring across treetop canopies, relaxing on a white-sand beach or finding the toughest slope to tackle in the mountains.

Favourite winter destination: Zermatt is the greatest place on earth. The level of skiing, restaurants and hotels are unbeatable, I find something new every time I go back to the resort.

Favourite summer destination: Also Zermatt for the hiking, but I have recently visited Cortina in the Dolomites which is stunning in summer. Via Ferrata (protected climbing/scrambling paths) is one of my favourite things to do and you can’t beat an e-bike ride up to one of the mountain huts for lunch with a very well-earned beer.

My top travel tip: On a ski holiday pack a pair of ski socks in your hand luggage so you can head straight to the ski hire shop when you arrive.

Favourite winter destination: The skiing in Zurs is simply first-class and the resort is also home to my favourite restaurant, Rud Alpe, which has a gorgeous sun terrace.

Favourite hotel: Porto Elounda on the secluded Elounda peninsula in Crete is our favourite family summer destination. It has its own private beach and I always make sure to head to the Six Senses Spa for a spot of relaxation.

Interesting fact about myself: I have worked in the Powder Byrne office since 1996, making me one of the longest-serving team members.

Favourite winter destination: Hailing from Slovakia, High Tatras found on the northern border of the country is one of my favourite places. I learnt to ski and hike there. I am also a big fan of Arosa, one of our Swiss ski resorts, as it reminds me of High Tatras.

Favourite summer destination: I always like to do something different but Crete is the one destination that I return to year after year, the sun is always reliable and there is so much to do.

When I’m not working: I enjoy keeping busy; from cooking and hiking to visiting friends and family, having a glass of wine and going to the cinema.

Favourite winter destination: Our resort of Flims in Switzerland feels like home to me after spending two consecutive seasons there working for Powder Byrne. My favourite run is the Lavadinas Black located right at the top of the ski area. The restaurant at the bottom of the run is a great spot to take a breather on a sunny day with a cold beer and restorative bratwurst in one of the deck chairs on the terrace.

Favourite hotel: The Hotel Schweizerhof in Zermatt is just amazing and has been recently renovated so offers a more contemporary stay. The skiing in Zermatt is also fantastic!

When I'm not working: I play a lot of sports, particularly football and squash with some others from the head office team. I am also known for being an avid gig-goer’. Everyone comes to London on tour so I like to try and squeeze in as many gigs as possible.

Favourite hotel: Has to be Priva Alpine Lodge in Lenzerheide. It is the perfect combination of ski-in/ski-out location and nice apartments that are a great place to chill out in the evenings after a day on the mountain.

Interesting fact about myself: I was a body double in a BBC drama as a cross-dressing tennis player.

Top travel tip: Don’t leave good snow for the chance of better snow.

Favourite hotel: Bentley’s House in Zurs is amazing. Your own private apartment right on the slopes with personal butler service and tailored dining menus, you really can’t ask for more.

When I’m not working: If I’m not skiing then rowing on the tideway near where I live is a great way to spend an afternoon. Though best not to fall in the river over the winter months!

Top travel tip: If you can, then drive out to the Alps! It’s more cost-effective, greener and means you can avoid any potential airport delays.
