At February half term our Original Skiing programme goes into overdrive, expanding across 10 exclusive winter resorts dotted across the Swiss and Austrian Alps and the Italian Dolomites. It’s the most popular week of the season and fabulous time for families to join the fun and experience our resorts at their buzzing best. Of course skiing is not for everyone and February also presents a great opportunity to catch some winter sun or visit a far-flung destination. Whether its ski, sun or adventure that takes your fancy, you’ll be spoilt for choice in February.

Take a trip to the small and exclusive village of Zurs which largely offers up excellent accommodation in the form of 4 and 5-star hotels. At the height of 1,720m, the location lends itself to reliable snow conditions, especially throughout the month of February. Take advantage of our evening shuttle and babysitting services and pop over to the opulent/upmarket Lech and dine at the well-recommended Hûs Nr 8 or Griggeler Stuba for Austrian specialities. Caps on lift passes mean that the slopes are never overly crowded, even during peak weeks of the season.

The heart of the Alta Badia ski area is easily accessible from the village, with the Gran Risa World Cup slope an excellent choice for adventurous skiers and the Sella Ronda circuit offering variety for intermediate abilities. Our award-winning Yeti and SnoZone clubs are operating for those aged 4-9 years and 9-14 years respectively, ensuring parents will get plenty of ski time safe in the knowledge that their children are enjoying their time in the mountains.

The hottest and driest month of the year in Zanzibar, February brings with it an excellent time to relax at the beach, head out on a dolphin excursion in Kimikazi or attend the annual ‘Sauti za Busara’ music festival which takes place in Stone Town. Base yourself at the elegant The Residence Zanzibar, situated on a pristine, palm-tree lined white sand beach with a unique and contemporary style with a kid’s club situated inside the hotel to keep those aged 3-12 years entertained.

Grindelwald is a great destination for novices at February half term with our Learn to Ski in Style programme for adults and our SnoZone beginner’s ski programme for children aged 10-14 years old. For more advanced skiers, the Jungfrau side of the ski area, with vastly improved access thanks to a new lift opening, offers more variety for intermediates and experts with a particular highlight being the Lauberhorn World Cup Downhill run. Off the slopes, there is plenty to do, from highly recommend restaurants and bars to scenic walks and sumptuous spas, making Grindelwald the ideal all-encompassing alpine destination.

Tenerife enjoys year-round sunshine and is one of the most popular luxury destinations for families with UNESCO world heritage sites to explore, stunning beaches and lots of activities kids will love, from fun-filled water parks to the popular Loro Parque Zoo. February is the perfect month to combine a beach and sight-seeing trip and is also carnival season in Tenerife. Head to Santa Cruz or Puerta de la Cruz on the northern side of the island to experience the biggest carnivals, parades and most extravagant costumes.
