Summer Adventures in the Alps

With the largest biking park in Graubünden, Lenzerheide is a perfect playground for everyone from the advanced rider seeking a thrill to families looking to spend an adventurous day cycling on the perfect gentle terrain. The trails in this Alpine haven will not disappoint. 

Lenzerheide also provides an incredible whitewater rafting experience. The 20-kilometer long route between Llanz and Reichenau can be experienced between the months of May to October offering non-stop adrenaline-filled fun. The attractive landscapes with vertical cliffs, evergreen trees, and teal blue water make the experience thrilling yet beautiful for families with older children and adventure-seekers alike.  

The area is also home to the longest Toboggan run in Switzerland with a 3’062 meter run down to the valley, comprised of 31 turns and reaching speeds of up to 40 kilometers per hour, a dose of adrenaline for all who venture. Thanks to the rail guide the toboggan run is open in summer and winter making it one of Lenzerheide most popular adventure attractions.

Test your courage on the Pradaschier rope park, based at an altitude of 1,740 meters high and offering multiple courses with varying difficulty levels so its ideal for everyone from children (age 10 and up) to those wanting to try something more daring. 

For a faster route to the valley floor, why not strap in and experience the 150-meter long zip line? Soaring high above the evergreen trees and meadows, you’ll witness the beautiful landscapes of Lenzerheide and the Graubünden area. Its a truly thrilling experience. 

The area is also endowed with beautiful blue mountain lakes that warm to over 20degrees Celsius in summer, making them the ideal place to enjoy a swim and water sports. With water skiing, wakeboarding to windsurfing for the more adventurous and stand up paddle boarding, swimming and riding on pedal boats for those keen to take it more easy, enjoy the calm waters and soak up the beauty of Lenzeheide. 

Boasting one of Europe’s most beautiful alpine golf courses, and situated at an altitude of 1.400 meters above sea level, the Lenzerheide Golf Club is surrounded by breathtaking mountain views and scenic landscapes. The 18-hole course makes for a challenging round, perfect for a golf-loving family’s day out. 

Horse lovers are also spoilt in Lenzerheide with laid-back horse rides through the beautiful mountains for a laid-back family activity.

From 4th August, the Arosa Bear Sanctuary will open its doors for visitors to see the resident brown bears from the large viewing platform. The animal welfare organisation is working in partnership with the Arosa bear foundation to give rescued bears a safe haven with plenty of room to roam free within the sanctuary. While this summer there will only one bear in residence,  a bear that has recently been rescued from the Serbian circus, he will soon be joined by some new friends soon.
