My Perfect Ski Day By Rhiannon Davis
Rhiannon Davis is the newest member of the PB marketing team joining as digital marketing executive. Being an avid skier, Rhiannon has shared her thoughts with us on her perfect ski day.
Ideally, I would wake up early to blue skies, and fresh powder from some overnight snowfall. I fill up at breakfast (ideally lots and lots of carbs) and make sure that I have everything that I need for a full day of skiing ahead. Whilst I aim to catch the first lift, usually, it tends to be the 9th or 10th, but still early enough so that the slopes are clear and the snow is untouched.
I will hit a few blues to ease me into the day before tackling the first red. By mid-morning it is time for a snack, usually a kinder bar in the bubble lift to keep my energy levels up. Towards the end of the morning I like to scope out some snow parks to practice my jumps, usually this involves a few tumbles but practice makes perfect.
I like to have a later lunch to take advantage of the quieter slopes. I love sitting outside with a small beer and sharing a fondue with my friends while we are discussing plans for afternoon skiing and apres. We try and cover some black runs for a few hours, before beginning to slowly head back to the chalet at 4pm.
It’s straight to the spa for a sauna and jacuzzi chill session, before going out for a traditional alpine meal and taking advantage of some late night tobogganing. After a few drinks, it’s time to hit the hay, ready to repeat the whole process again tomorrow.
