Getting to know the Polo Valley Team: Part 3
The final interview in our blog series ‘Getting to know the Polo Valley team’ is with Diego Enriles who works alongside Malena in Polo Valley’s Concierge Team. Read on to find out more about Diego and what he loves about working at Polo Valley.
How long have you been working at Polo Valley?
I have been working for Polo Valley for 5 months.
What drew you to a career at Polo Valley?
I was living in France, but in December I started looking for a job to keep me busy until I had to go back to my studies. When I came back to Spain I learned about Polo Valley and I just fell in love.
How has your role changed since you started?
My role hasn’t changed hugely but I would love to move on and go into sales and marketing if the opportunity arises. Day to day, my main job is to take care of our clients, including having lunch and dinner with them if they wish, ensuring they have everything they need. I also work with new members of the team, training them up and teaching them about what makes Polo Valley so special and how we give our clients the best holiday they have ever had.
What developments have you seen at Polo Valley since you started?
Even in the 5 months I have been here there have been quite a lot of developments. Mainly on the new farm there has been quite a lot of clearing in preparation for the new pitches and buildings. The team has also grown, when I started it was just me in the concierge team and now there’s 3 of us. It’s great as things are running even more smoothly and efficiently!
What are you most excited about regarding future developments?
The new farm is going to be incredible and I’m excited to see it start to take shape day by day. Being part of such a progressive and exciting project is amazing and being able to watch it grow from the start is really special.
What is your favourite thing to do with clients on their Polo Valley holiday?
I love spending time with our clients and chatting to them, you learn so much from them as they all have different stories to tell, it’s fascinating.
Which is your favourite pony and why?
That’s a really hard question! It does change too, depending on who I ride. I like Gatsby and I’ve always liked him from the beginning but I also like Mika.
What do you love most about working at Polo Valley?
Being part of the clients’ holiday from start to finish, you really learn a lot and feel part of it. The experience I have gained and what I have learned here is incredible.
What is your favourite thing to do in Sotogrande?
There’s so much to do in Sotogrande but I love to travel and I’m a huge fan of the beach. I love that I can go to the beach whenever I like and also admire Sotogrande’s stunning port, which is a beautiful place to enjoy some drinks. The whole Polo Valley team adore the beach club, it’s sort of a meeting point for us all to go and relax.
