We are thrilled to continue offering our popular and exclusive Ski Tour of Japan, designed by our Director, Edward Byrne for avid skiers eager to experience the legendary light powder of Hokkaido.
This extraordinary adventure spans 10 nights and showcases the best ski resorts on the island, including Kiroro, Furano, Tomamu, Rusutsu, and the renowned Niseko. Guided by your expert Powder Byrne Ski Guide, this is a unique opportunity to explore Hokkaido’s snow-covered landscapes.
For many British skiers, Hokkaido’s reputation for expansive backcountry skiing and the famed Niseko powder comes to mind. To truly grasp the full scope and variety of skiing available, local expertise is essential. Our knowledgeable guides will reveal hidden gems, lesser-known resorts, and deep, steep backcountry runs with tranquil slopes away from the crowds.
Your English and Japanese speaking Powder Byrne ski guide will handle all arrangements, including transfers and accommodation in carefully selected properties, ensuring a seamless and unforgettable experience.

Arrival Day
Arrive at Tokyo Haneda International Airport and transfer to your domestic flight to New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido. An English-speaking assistant will meet you and arrange a private transfer to Niseko (2 hours 15 minutes). Upon arrival, you’ll meet your Powder Byrne ski guide at your hotel, who will assist with your rental equipment.
Day 2 & 3
After breakfast, your Powder Byrne ski guide will take you to the best slopes in the Niseko United resorts. Enjoy hand-picked lunch and dinner options while exploring the renowned terrain.
Day 4
Travel by private vehicle to Rusutsu (45 minutes) for a full day of skiing. Known for its extensive lift system and exceptional powder-filled treelines, Rusutsu is a must-visit. Return to Niseko in the evening for a relaxing onsen experience and a delicious dinner.
Day 5
Depart Niseko for Kiroro (1 hour) to explore this premier backcountry resort. With extensive regulated off-piste terrain, Kiroro is a haven for experienced skiers. In the late afternoon, transfer privately to Furano (2 hours 45 minutes).
Day 6 & 7
After a hearty breakfast, ski the excellent terrain of Furano with your guide. Known for its legendary Hokkaido powder, Furano attracts serious skiers and boarders. You’ll stay overnight in Furano. The following day, choose to continue exploring Furano or opt for an excursion to Asahidake, where advanced skiers can enjoy secluded backcountry bowls. Return to Furano for the night.
Day 8
After breakfast, travel to Sahoro by private transfer (1 hour 10 minutes). Your Powder Byrne guide will show you the best advanced skiing spots with spectacular views over the Tokachi Plain. In the late afternoon, transfer privately to Tomamu (35 minutes) for an overnight stay.
Day 9 & 10
Spend the next two days exploring Tomamu’s skiing offerings, including its treeline runs and off-piste terrain. Enjoy your stay in Tomamu.
Day 11+
Return to New Chitose Airport and fly back to Tokyo Haneda. We can arrange an extension with a few nights in Tokyo with a private guide. Alternatively, fly to Osaka Itami and extend your trip with a visit to Kyoto, Japan’s historic UNESCO World Heritage city.
