As fellow parents, we understand the joys and occasional trials of keeping children happily entertained during a summer holiday. It’s not just about sun, sea, and sand; it’s about creating unforgettable memories without hearing those dreaded words, “I’m bored!” We know the struggle of constantly brainstorming child-friendly activities that ensure both fun and peace of mind for the grown-ups.
That’s where we come in. Our fun-filled summer children’s programmes are the answer to your cocktail-sipping prayers. While you recline by the pool with a good book, explore local culture, or simply relax and indulge in some well-deserved me-time, your kids will be having a blast in our fantastic children’s programmes.
Scallywags for 4-8 year-olds is one of our most popular summer programmes, carefully designed by our childcare experts for active kids with boundless energy! Jam-packed with sports games, adventures, swimming, and creative arts and crafts, your kids will have a ball in Scallywags.
Our experienced childcare professionals and Scallywags team organize the activities and keep a watchful eye over the children, ensuring they are in the safest hands. Our Scallywags assistants are not only childcare professionals but also super enthusiastic, friendly, and experts in fun—you certainly won’t need to worry about your kids being bored!
A day in the life of Scallywags
The Scallywags begin their day of fun at 10am when they sign into the programme and are left in the care of our Scallywags team. The morning usually consists of two activities, which can vary by resort. For example, in Crete, the morning might start with a sporty activity like ‘Drills with Djokovic’ followed by watersports such as ‘Scally Splash,’ where kids learn new skills while having fun with new friends. After a busy morning, the Scallywags break for lunch at 12:30pm, supervised by the team, to refuel and recharge for the afternoon.
The afternoon mirrors the morning with two activities. The first is usually arts and crafts, allowing tummies to settle before the final watersports activity or beach games. Twice a week, a different pattern is followed with day trips, such as a glass-bottom boat trip where kids watch marine life beneath their feet, or a visit to a local water park for adrenaline-filled fun on slides and rapids.
The fun doesn’t stop at the end of the day. We offer an optional supervised Scallywags supper on six days of the week, where children eat together and play with their new friends. After supper, on two evenings in the week, we organise additional activities ranging from movie nights to treasure hunts and even a Scallywags disco! These activities give you more time to enjoy as you please—we recommend a cocktail or two.

Instead, you can relax and savour the holiday you dreamed of, knowing your kids are having the time of their lives and making great friends in the capable hands of our Powder Byrne teams.
